I hate to admit it, but I was always secretly hoping that Baby Z would be a boy.
There’s the logical reason…I have all these boy things and I hate to waste money, but the other reason was that I simply wanted to watch a brotherly relationship develop.
Now that they’re both getting a little older, and the baby isn’t a newborn anymore, I’m starting to see glimpses of what my future with boys will be. And I love it!
There’s the sweetest moments like when the Little Man will lean into his brother and say things like, “You’re my best friend.” which, of course, takes every ounce of restraint to not just go up to him when that happens and squeeze him to death while bawling my eyes out.
Then there are the typical brother moments when the Little Man swears his baby brother does something on purpose like steal his snack. I mean clearly a newborn wants to eat his Pirate Booty.
I’m sure the next few decades will be full of pull-my-hair out moments as a mom raising boys, but at the end of it, I’m excited to be the mother of these sweet babies!
**Please excuse my terrible phone photos. Getting these two to take a photo together is like trying to capture Sasquatch on film!
